OnePlus has officially announced the launch date for its OnePlus 12 series, set to take place on January 23 in India. The global unveiling of the OnePlus 12 5G and OnePlus 12R 5G is expected at the Smooth Beyond Belief event in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, with tickets already on sale.
The OnePlus 12R 5G, confirmed to debut globally, will be introduced in Blue and Black color options, as hinted in the brand’s teasers. Notably, it is anticipated to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3, slated for release in China on January 4. Reliable tipster Yogesh Brar has disclosed the expected price range for these upcoming smartphones in the Indian market.
The All New OnePlus 12 5G and OnePlus 12R 5G
According to Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 12 5G is projected to be priced between ₹58,000 and ₹60,000. In comparison, iQOO previously launched the iQOO 12 5G with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India at Rs 52,999 for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The higher pricing of the OnePlus 12 is attributed to advancements such as Hasselblad tuning and other significant upgrades. The device is expected to be available in Green and Black color options, featuring up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Conversely, the more budget-friendly OnePlus 12R 5G is anticipated to debut with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, likely falling within the ₹40,000 to ₹42,000 price segment. This model is poised to be the most affordable option featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in India.
Detailed specifications for the OnePlus 12 include a 6.82-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution, an LPTO 1 to 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 4500 nits peak brightness. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, supported by Adreno 750 GPU, and run on Oxygen OS 14 based on Android 14. Memory options range from 12GB to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, coupled with 256GB to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device boasts a robust camera setup, a 5400mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, and various features like an IP65 rating, Dolby Atmos Sound, and NFC.
As for the anticipated OnePlus 12R specifications, they include a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and Adreno 740 GPU, the device is expected to run on Oxygen OS 14 based on Android 14. Memory options include up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The camera setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 2MP macro lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens with EIS. The device is equipped with a 5400mAh battery featuring 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, along with additional features like an IP65 rating, Dolby Atmos Sound, and NFC.
