Ola Solbakken is expected to join Roma in the coming hours. The player has landed in Italy to complete the formalities in order to be a new player for the team.
A medical assessment will be conducted for the player soon. And once he gets the green signal from the medical staff, he will sign a contract until 2027 with the Italian side. Since the transfer window is not open right now, he will be registered when the winter transfer window opens on January 1st.
Ola Solbakken to join Roma imminently
The left-footed winger will be making the move from Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, which might ring some bells for Roma fans. In October 2021, Solbakken scored twice as Bodo defeated the Giallorossi 6-1 and now he is set to join one of the top clubs in Europe.
Ola Solbakken usually plays on the right side, but can also be used on the opposite flank. He made his senior debut for Norway last year, and earned three caps so far.
Mourinho currently uses a 3-4-2-1 formation, and it will be interesting to see where he fits in a natural winger like Solbakken. He could play as the wide midfielder there, but would have more defensive duties, or could be shifted narrower to play in an attacking midfield role.
