Obsidian has laid out its 2025 content roadmap for Avowed, confirming three major updates planned across the year. The first of these, the Spring 2025 update (patch 1.4), is out now, and it brings a number of gameplay enhancements and quality of life features.
Notable additions include an arachnophobia mode to help those uncomfortable with spider-like creatures, and mouse-and-keyboard support for Xbox console players. Other features include redesigned fog, more gold, more crafting materials, new card art, and tons of quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and balance adjustments.

Even bigger things are promised for the Summer and Fall 2025 updates. These patches are going to implement a new game-plus mode, which will let players start the game from the beginning while keeping their progress and abilities. A photo mode will also be implemented, allowing players to take game photos. On top of that, NPCs will gain new skills, and AI builds will be improved, adding a dynamic feel to the world.
Players can expect fresh character presets, Godlike abilities, new weapons, and a new ability to change appearance in-game, to bring more to the customisation table. Besides new content, Obsidian has also confirmed it is hard at work on localized versions of the game for French, Korean, and Japanese players.
Although no release date has been announced for these language packs, the studio released a statement that they are taking time to ensure quality and that they will be released once they have reached an internal threshold of readiness.
Avowed was announced earlier this year to a warm reception – many saw it as a return to the studio for Obsidian following their work on The Outer Worlds. With The Outer Worlds 2 scheduled to arrive in 2025, fans will soon be able to directly compare the studio’s progress between the two titles. Until then, Avowed players have a year of exciting new features ahead.
