NVIDIA’s A4000 GPU has a compact PCB with an outstanding efficiency of 140W

Over at Nvidia’s subreddit,  disassembled pictures of Nvidia’s RTX A400  graphics card have been published by Snake-Robot. These images show us the extremely compact PCB  design that resides underneath the single cooler making us want a half-length variant of the card.

The NVIDIA RTX A4000  is a single slot and full-length form factor.  this graphics card has a blower fan that circulates are within the cooler shroud both from the bottom and topsides.  the backplate of the graphics card has a cut out for the blower fan at the bottom as well.  this further cools the compact aluminium fin array which makes direct contact with the GPU.

below the shroud, we have a compact PCB  that is almost as small as AMD Radeon R9 Nano.  this card features a configuration of 6114 cores as well as 16GB of the GDDR6 memory bus.  the total bandwidth of the card is reported to be 448 GB per second and the card has a total TDP of 140W.  the power is supplied through a single 6 pin connector which is located beyond the PCB with extender cables. the card also features four display outputs and all of which are the display output port 1.4a.

Speaking about the total HP of the card we are looking at a power of around 20 TFLOP of FP32  compute. This is much higher when compared to AMD Radeon R9 Nano which delivered around 8.1 TFLOPS  of FP32  compute at 170W. This clearly shows the difference in the efficiency of both the GPUs.
