NVIDIA has quietly decided to hike the cost of its entire GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition series graphics card for the European market, more than a year after its release.
Notebookbilinger/LDLC Discord group provided the information (via Videocardz & HardwareLuxx). NVIDIA has chosen to hike the price of its whole GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition lineup by up to 6.4 percent, according to the details. Even though the crypto market has nearly completely fallen, NVIDIA has decided to raise the cost of their FE cards even higher.
The rates for the full roster have gone up, as you can see from the table above. The GeForce RTX 3090 has witnessed the largest price rise of +6.4% and is now officially listed at 1649 Euros on the GeForce EU website. The prices of the remaining cards have also increased, ranging from 4.7 percent to 5.8 percent. Customers of NBB (DE/AT/NL) and LDLC (FE/BE/LU/ES/IT) should also expect price rises, with reports circulating that the UK may be the next country to witness price increases.
There is currently no reason why NVIDIA has decided to raise the prices of their Founders Edition GPUs, but a recent report stated that chipmakers such as AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel were expecting to raise the prices of their chips by up to 20%.
While this isn’t as bad as a 20% increase, it is still an increase and something that customers were not looking forward to. This would make obtaining a FE card at their initial MSRPs nearly impossible. We’d love to know why NVIDIA decided to boost the prices of their graphics cards, but we all know why.
