NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12GB “Un-Released” GPU benchmarks leaks online

Chiphell Forums now has benchmarks for the now-canceled NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB graphics card, giving us a glimpse of the AD104 GPU’s potential capabilities. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB graphics card was scheduled to be on sale starting next month for $899 US. The 16 GB variant, on the other hand, will still arrive on November 16 despite NVIDIA’s decision to discontinue the 12 GB model due to the stark performance difference between the two models.

Given how quickly the launch was postponed, AIBs undoubtedly received a batch of Ada AD104 GPUs to create their models, and we are aware that these cards were unquestionably prepared to be sent to distributors and stores. Now, despite the cancellation, benchmarks for gaming and artificial intelligence are beginning to surface.

This specific NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB graphics card lacks information such as the model number, but it does have a maximum GPU rate of 2820 MHz and uses 262W of electricity.

In the AIDA64 GPGPU test, the GPU was able to provide a peak FP32 computation power of 42 TFLOPs. The card wasn’t supposed to come in FE variations anyhow, thus it is likely to be a factory overclock as we are talking about a custom model, however, we cannot say for sure whether they are reference or overclocked specs.

In addition to these artificial benchmarks, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB graphics card achieved scores of 66.98 FPS in the XDR Feature Test and 5382 points in 3DMark Speed Way, 10794 points in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, and 13472 points in 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra.

When NVIDIA released their gaming benchmarks providing us with both native & DLSS performance data, the enormous performance gap between the RTX 4080 16 GB and RTX 4080 12 GB became clear. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB graphics card, which costs $900 US, performed about 11% worse in gameplay than the RTX 3090 Ti, according to the benchmarks. You can also see in the synthetic benchmarks that the card is only almost on par with the RTX 3090 Ti.
