Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is undoubtedly the most anticipated card launched by the green team. Well, why won’t it be? The card has a full 20 GB VRAM buffer (unlike the 10GB buffer on the 3080). And the card will be Nvidia’s “true” flagship considering the 3090 is a replacement for the Titan.
According to sources, the RTX 3080 Ti will be landing in February of 2021, while the RTX 3060 will be landing early in January 2021. Well, the rumors most likely must be true because Nvidia’s RTX 3060 is slated to be the budget king of its RTX 3000 line-up.
We still cannot say that the green team will launch its cards on the dates mentioned above. As we know, currently, the demand for GPUs in the market is exceptionally high, and Nvidia cannot satisfy the increasing demands. It’s still battling the supply constraints in the market and is desperately trying to catch up to demand. Thus, it won’t be surprising if the company decides to move the launch of RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3060 to Q2 of 2021.
According to sources, the RTX 3060 will come in a 6GB and 12GB flavor. It means that there won’t be any need for a 10GB RTX 3080. The 10GB buffer isn’t enough to successfully run the many high-end games of 2020. As such, it will be a better strategy for Nvidia to provide the RTX 3080 with a 20GB buffer and GDDR6 memory.
