After launching the MX300 series of mobile GPUs for thin and light laptops this year, NVIDIA is not looking back. Possibly it will be the MX450, codenamed the N18S-G5, NVIDIA is yet to finalise a marketing name.
This is mobile GPU has been spotted on 3DMark by @_rogame, this new NVIDIA MX GPU reports a 540 MHz base clock, 100 MHz lower than the MX350 with no signs of the boost clock speeds.
The listing by the tipster also confirms the usage of 2 GB VRAM, which is in line for the GeForce MX series. But this time NVIDIA will be using the faster GDDR6 memory operating at 10GBps at a TDP lesser than 25W.
The TU117 GPU is also found in the GTX 1650 and GTX 1650 Max-Q GPUs so it is very likely to see the MX450 performing like the GTX 1650 Max-Q but with a more subtle 2GB VRAM. The Turing-based MX GPU series will make its way into Tiger Lake laptops in 2H 2020, but there’s no confirmed release date as yet.
