As the launch of the upcoming RTX 3070 is nearing the leaks of the new GPU are making its way more than ever. Already the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU has been spotted using the same GA104 GPU which is based on NVIDIA’s new Ampere architecture.
Brought to you via VideoCardz, we see a bunch of GA104-300 GPUs going through a validation phase and this is likely the desktop variants. We see a multiple of them waiting for validation and the test program also reveal that the GPUs are being validated to the 300 spec.
The GA104-300 GPU is likely to feature 5888 CUDA cores, 184 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. The graphics processor is built on the on a refined 8nm process nodes by Samsung, featuring 46 RT cores and 184 Tensor cores.
The GPU for the RTX 3070 that will cost just $499, comes with 256-bit memory bus which will power 8GB of GDDR6 memory. The upcoming mid-range RTX 3070 is superior in terms of performance from the last year’s flagship RTX 2080 Ti that used to cost $1,200.
The GA104 GPUs could actually be revolutionary when they make their way for mobile as well, hopefully, in CES 2021, NVIDIA will announce the RTX 30-series for mobile as well.
