NVIDIA and AMD are releasing expensive graphics cards to power today’s level of graphics and more, and reports indicate that prices between the two GPU titans are now beginning to fall.
According to German retailer Mindfactory, graphics cards sold this month are nearly 93 percent higher than three years ago. AMD Radeon graphics cards typically cost €600. NVIDIA’s cards are more expensive, costing €825. AMD’s average selling price was around €305 two years ago, while NVIDIA’s was around €398.
The price difference between NVIDIA and AMD is roughly €300 and €430.
AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 series graphics card prices are falling, according to Hardware Info, and NVIDIA’s highest-end GeForce RTX 3090 is also falling, falling by nearly 12% in the last month. Consumer costs are being reduced by 6.2% to 6.9% for the younger generation.
We learned almost two weeks ago that NVIDIA will have limited market supply for the remainder of the first quarter of 2023. There has been no official word from NVIDIA, but it is speculated that limited production during the first half of the year, around the time of the Chinese New Year, may be the catalyst for the shorter supply.
