Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares is set to join Marseille on a straight loan deal until 2023 with no option to buy. The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that it is only a matter of time before the deal is made official by both clubs.

Over the last few days, there were rumours that Atalanta were interested in signing him as well. But, they wanted a loan plus buy option in the deal. The Gunners consider the youngster a part of their plans for the future, and are hence only loaning him out temporarily.

Nuno Tavares to join Marseille soon

The 22-year-old will be loaned to Marseille this season, and will follow in the footsteps of William Saliba from last season. The Frenchman was the best defender in Ligue 1 during his time with the club, and helped them achieve Champions League qualification as well.
