England’s World Cup-winning captain, Eoin Morgan, announced his retirement from international cricket on June 28, 2022, but will continue to play domestic cricket. Eoin Morgan’s career spans over 15 years making a debut for Ireland in 2006 and then a test debut for England in 2010.

After the humiliation of the 2015 World Cup, Morgan is to be credited for the change he brought to England’s white-ball setup. For the type of cricket they play, the English team is currently among the most vivacious and fearless in the world. Prior to the 2015 World Cup, he was named the ODI team’s captain. But following that competition, Morgan and his men drastically changed the side after failing to make it to the quarterfinals. He led his team to the 2016 T20 World Cup finals, but Carlos Brathwaite’s heroics in the decisive match left him just short.
