Nubia is preparing for the imminent launch of its highly-anticipated flagship smartphone, the Nubia Z60 Ultra, scheduled for December 19th. Recent teasers provided a sneak peek into the phone’s distinctive circular camera design, and a recent leak has now unveiled a more comprehensive look at the device’s overall aesthetics.
The Upcoming Nubia Z60 Ultra
Similar to its predecessor, the Z50 Ultra, the Z60 will embrace a display design devoid of notches, indicating the inclusion of an under-display selfie camera. The bezels surrounding the screen appear to be symmetrically aligned on all sides, contributing to a clean and streamlined look. The leak also showcases the phone’s flat display.
Turning to the back, a sizable rectangular camera island spans the entire width of the phone. The camera module exhibits a two-tone finish, with the upper portion in a white finish housing a camera sensor designed in a capsule-style layout. Adjacent to the sensor, there is an LED light, the Nubia logo, and a red dot, presumably for aesthetic purposes.
The lower half of the camera module is black and accommodates two camera sensors. One sensor is in a circular cutout with a distinctive red accent, while the other resides in a rectangular cutout.
The leak additionally discloses the antenna lines on the frame, affirming the phone’s metal frame construction. Notably, a physical slider for muting notifications is present, and the power key and volume rocker are conveniently positioned on the right-hand side.
A recent Weibo teaser from Nubia has confirmed that the Z60 Ultra will boast a 50MP primary sensor with remarkable specifications, including a 1/1.56-inch size, f/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support, and an “eight-wire suspension stabilization motor.”
Furthermore, Nubia claims that the Z60 Ultra will introduce the world’s first “main-level wide-angle lens,” indicating that the primary camera will offer functionalities akin to an ultra-wide-angle lens.
In terms of performance, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, likely coupled with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Additionally, there are indications that the phone may feature IP68 water and dust resistance, providing users with an added layer of durability and peace of mind.
