Nubia Play 5G will feature 144Hz display, in-display fingerprint scanner, and Snapdragon 765G

Nubia previously revealed some news posters showing the launch of Nubia Play 5G on April 21, Tuesday. Now the brand has revealed a video where they compared the screen refresh rate of Nubia Play 5G and iPhone 11 Pro Max. This new video reveals two main specs of the device – Snapdragon 765G processor and 144Hz refresh rate of the display panel.

Previously the brand has revealed the back design of the device and the retail box. Then the brand has revealed two different specs of the device. The phone will come with a quad-camera setup with a 48MP Sony main shooter believed to be the IMX586 sensor. There’s also a 12MP selfie camera according to some reports.

Nubia’s brand CEO Ni Fei revealed that the battery capacity of Nubia Play 5G will be 5100 mAh. He also added that it will also support up to 30W fast-charging with USB-PD, which is compatible with Quick Charge 4.0.

He also revealed that Snapdragon 765G smartphones have the fingerprint scanner primarily on the side or on the back, however, for this device the sensor will be placed underneath the display panel, effectively confirming the OLED screen.

nubia Play will arrive with Snapdragon 765G, 144 Hz refresh rate

The video also reveals the front design of the smartphone. The smartphone though not placed in a lighting environment still reveals that it will not come with any notch or punch-hole design. In the video, the smartphone has a noticeable forehead, normal chin and decent bezels on both sides. Maybe the smartphone will house the front camera somewhere within the forehead section.

We didn’t know that the device will feature Snapdragon 765G SoC or not, as the device is supporting 5G, but now we are sure from the above video that the device will feature the same processor mentioned above. The video also confirmed the 144Hz refresh rate of the display and even the placement of the fingerprint scanner.

To sum up, we get the smartphone will pack in a 5G connectivity, 144Hz display, Snapdragon 765G processor, quad rear-camera, 5000mAh battery, and 30W fast charging. From all these specs combined the smartphone looks like a premium mid-range device that specifically targets the young generation, that wants more by spending less.
