NTT DATA, a global provider of AI, digital business, and technology services, has announced a strategic partnership with Cursor, an AI coding platform. This collaboration aims to integrate Cursor’s advanced AI agents into NTT DATA’s global software engineering and delivery operations, marking a significant step in the company’s transformation into an AI-native services provider.

The initiative is designed to enhance NTT DATA’s capabilities in application development, legacy modernization, and cloud and AI transformation initiatives. By leveraging Cursor’s AI technology alongside enterprise-grade governance features, NTT DATA seeks to improve the speed, consistency, and quality of its service delivery at scale.

NTT DATA Strategic Imperative for AI Integration

NTT DATA’s CEO and Chief AI Officer, Abhijit Dubey, stated, “Enterprise modernization is no longer just about moving systems to the cloud—it is about reimagining how software is built and operated in the age of AI.” Dubey emphasized that the partnership will enable NTT DATA to embed AI at the core of its engineering and delivery model, facilitating faster modernization and delivering greater value to clients. He added that by implementing these capabilities internally first, the company aims to guide organizations in adopting AI with increased confidence, governance, and measurable impact.

Cursor’s platform integrates multi-model AI agents directly into developer environments, providing codebase-wide context for writing, reviewing, refactoring, and modernizing code. Jordan Topoleski, Chief Operating Officer at Cursor, commented, “NTT DATA is putting AI at the core of how engineers modernize complex systems. By pairing Cursor agents with enterprise-grade governance and structured enablement, NTT DATA is proving how AI changes the way software gets built and delivered at global scale.”

Deployment and Governance Framework

The partnership will see NTT DATA initially deploy Cursor Enterprise across priority engineering teams, with plans for global expansion. The company also intends to establish a Cursor Center of Excellence to scale these capabilities across its global practices and industries.

A key aspect of this collaboration is the focus on enterprise-grade governance. Cursor’s platform offers features such as organization-wide privacy mode, Single Sign-On, centralized administration, granular agent controls, and audit-ready policy enforcement. These controls are intended to ensure that modernization efforts using AI agents are secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise-wide AI strategies. This development is one of many recent industry developments (https://technosports.co.in/) showcasing the accelerating integration of AI into enterprise software strategies.
