Following his one-year tenure at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest has released Jesse Lingard. The former Manchester United star joined the club last summer on a one-year contract worth £200,000- a-week in a summer overhaul of their squad from Forest before their comeback in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old player had 20 appearances for the club but failed to score a goal or make an assist. Forest confirmed on Friday that Lingard is leaving the club and that he’ll not be offered any contract extension.
Jesse Lingard struggled to get a place in Steve Cooper’s Forest team. He was successful with just one assist last year for the club, and his only goal came in the Carabao Cup Campaign that helped them get to the semi-finals.
Jesse Lingard rose through United’s youth ranks but had it difficult to find a regular place in the team. However, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he had a fruitful run.
He had a successful loan spell at West Ham in 2021. But, didn’t have the best of years for the Devils next year and was released after his contract concluded.
Lingard had a great time with the Hams as he hammered nine goals in 16 games. The club was very much interested in retaining him but ultimately gave up on his signature.
