After signing 13 players this summer, Nottingham Forest are eyeing a transfer for Neil Maupay now. The Premier League newcomers have practically built a new squad for themselves this summer, with the vast number of arrivals.
And the French striker might be the next to make the switch to City Ground at this point. He was excluded from the matchday squad in Brighton’s 0-0 draw against Newcastle, amidst talks of an exit.
Neil Maupay could sign for Nottingham Forest
In their first season back since 1999, Nottingham Forest are trying their best to stay up with many new signings. They have been linked with Emmanuel Dennis of Watford for a fee worth £20 million, but nothing has been made official as of yet.
As a result, a move for Neil Maupay is also being discussed, prior to the end of the transfer window. Danny Welbeck has established himself as the first choice striker under Graham Potter, while Maupay has been relegated to the bench. So, a move away to a new club might help him get more game time in the league.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal worth £15 million is being discussed between the two clubs. Once the transfer is finalised, the player will sign a four-year deal until 2026.
Nottingham Forest are in the market for a new left-back as well, and have a fortnight to get their man and finalise their squad.
