Nintendo Switch Successor Dev Kit has reached a Spanish Studio

A leaker claims that dev kits for the Nintendo Switch successor, informally known as the ‘Nintendo Switch 2’, have arrived at a Spanish firm. Though no other details were supplied to lend credibility to this leak, it came from Twitter user Nash Weedle, who properly reported on the existence of Metroid Dread ahead of Nintendo’s formal announcement.

As a result, there is considerable credibility to this information, and if true, it signals that the console’s announcement will be made sooner than some may have anticipated. Nash Weedle is also Spanish, implying that they have some knowledge of Spanish studios, not only about this new story but also about their Metroid Dread leak.

With all of this information, it’s logical to assume that this studio, which reportedly owns ‘Nintendo Switch 2’ dev kits, is also MercurySteam, although this is just speculation.

It’s more likely that a different firm leaked this dev kit information, as MercurySteam, with its tight relationship with Nintendo, would be far more conservative with this type of stuff. In a recent video, the Spanish YouTuber Behind the Games gave additional details about this report.

He added that he spoke with Nash Weedle, who elaborated that this anonymous Spanish studio is testing the dev kit using a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, as Nintendo is anxious about the new controller for their future platform not leaking.

To stress, none of this has been confirmed; nonetheless, if accurate, it appears that Nintendo is planning something special with the ‘ Nintendo Switch 2’ controllers, which will not merely be an upgraded version of the present Joy-Cons. It could also imply that the present Switch Pro Controller will be compatible with the ‘ Nintendo Switch 2’, albeit this could be a one-time feature reserved for dev kits.
