Nicolo Zaniolo is set to sign for Galatasaray in Turkey, after a total agreement was reached between them and Roma.
The attacking midfielder will be signing for a fee worth €20 million plus add-ons. He will be signing a contract until 2027 with them, which will have a €35 million release clause valid from the summer. Which means he could sign for any club that decides to meet that price at the end of the season.
Nicolo Zaniolo to sign for Galatasaray in the coming days
The player is set to fly to Istanbul today, and the medical tests have already been scheduled for the transfer to go through. An official announcement from them is expected soon, once the formalities are complete.
The Italian was expected to leave during the January transfer window and join a European club. AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth were interested in signing him. But, a deal didn’t materialise with any club in the top five leagues.
And given that the transfer window is open in Turkey, the player has decided to move on since he isn’t included in Jose Mourinho’s plans anymore. The player was not included in any matchday squad for January, and Roma only wanted a permanent transfer away instead of a loan.
For now, Nicolo Zaniolo will be playing for Galatasaray, and could return to one of the big teams down the line given he is still very young.
