Nicolas Pepe is on his way to complete a transfer to Trabzonspor from Arsenal, with a short-term deal in place between the two clubs. Arsenal’s former record signing will be leaving for a small fee worth £3 million and will be signing a contract until 2024 with the Turkish side.Â
He was loaned out to Ligue 1 side Nice last season, but was unable to secure a permanent transfer. And now, he has moved to the Turkish league to try and revive his career away from the spotlight of Europe’s top leagues.
Nicolas Pepe to sign for Trabzonspor in the coming daysÂ
Trabzonspor have confirmed that Pepe is on his way to the club when they posted pictures of him on a plane in their shirt. He will be completing the medical tests in the coming hours before completing the remaining formalities and being confirmed as a new signing for the club.Â
Nicolas Pepe joined Arsenal in a massive £72 million deal from Lille in 2019, becoming a club record signing in the process. He has scored 27 goals in 116 games, but was unable to secure a regular starting spot. Pepe hasn’t been involved in any of the matchday squads this season and his time in North London has now come to an end.
Trabzonspor are seventh in the Turkish league as things stand, and will be hoping to get the best out of the Ivorian once he starts playing.
