Where to Watch Nezha 2 Online
The confirmed Nezha 2 OTT release date lands December 24, 2025, exclusively on HBO Max (also via HBO Max Amazon Channel). This Christmas Eve timing positions the film perfectly for holiday streaming marathons. According to What’s on Netflix, the original Ne Zha (2019) returned to Netflix US on August 21, 2025—perfect for catching up.
Historic Box Office Records
According to Wikipedia, Nezha 2 shattered records: highest-grossing animated film ever ($2.2 billion), first animated film crossing $2 billion, highest single-territory earnings (China: $1.9 billion), and fifth-highest-grossing film of all time. With an $80 million budget, it achieved a 2,750% return—proving Chinese animation can compete globally.
The Story
Directed by Jiaozi, Nezha 2 continues from the 2019 original ($726 million). After Ne Zha and friend Ao Bing are struck by godly lightning, they must share one regenerated body. To complete Ao Bing’s restoration, they face three trials while battling demon armies. Based on Investiture of the Gods, it blends mythology with cutting-edge animation.
Michelle Yeoh’s English Dub
A24 released an English-dubbed version on August 22, 2025, featuring Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh as Lady Yin. This dub expanded US audiences and will stream on HBO Max for the Nezha 2 OTT release date, making the complex Chinese mythology more accessible.
