Brazilian winger Neymar has been ruled out for the rest of the 2022 World Cup group stage with an ankle injury. The PSG star was fouled nine times during their opening match against Serbia. The entirety of the Brazil team was fouled only three times more.

Neymar had to leave the pitch due to the ankle injury, after the doctors examined it and said that he would be unable to continue. But now, reports from several outlets state that his involvement in the group stage is over.

Alongside the 30-year-old, full-back Danilo has also been ruled out for the remainder of the group stage. However, there is optimism that the pair will be back in the team should they qualify for the knockout stages.

Despite the injury, there is no lack of options for Title, with the likes of Rodrygo, Antony, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Guimaraes just waiting for an opportunity.

Given their quality, the record champions are one of the favourites to go on and win the tournament. But it will be no easy task, especially considering the kind of performances that even the underdogs are putting up in the Qatar edition of the World Cup.
