New Sony Xperia is coming this month but no one knows what to expect

Sony is not known for releasing phones on a spree and with launches like the Xperia 10 III Lite, Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III, and Xperia 10 III, it was thought that the company is done and dusted with their offerings for 2021.

However, the Japanese company has now surprised us all with their latest announcement.

Sony took to Twitter today to declare a new ‘Xperia Product Announcement’ to be held on October 26th. Apart from this, no other information was provided.

Considering the fact that Xperia is the brand name of smartphones and tablets from Sony, it is safe to assume that the product to be launched will indeed be a tablet or a smartphone.

Sony has also used a rather peculiar image for the announcement, it appears to be a cryptic portrayal of light falling on a camera lens, although it could just be us blowing things out of proportion and it is nothing but art.

If it indeed is a phone, then it could be from a brand new series, but of course, there is no evidence that points towards the product being a smartphone in the first place.

Sony will hopefully post more teasers so that we can get a clue of what to expect in the near future ahead of the launch. If not, then all we can do is wait for the said October 26th launch date.

Regardless, the launch will be streamed via YouTube through its @sonyxperia channel on October 26th, 12:00 JST, or October 25th, 2021, 23:00 EDT, so stay tuned.
