Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is here with a 30% faster Adreno GPU

Qualcomm has faced a lot of criticisms with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 this year, thanks to its heating issues having used Samsung’s 4nm process node. Now, we heard a lot of rumours that the US chipmaker will shift to TSMC’s 4nm process and now it’s being reported by the promising and accurate tipster Digital Chat Station that it will happen as soon as next month.

Today, the tipster has broke the news that the upcoming SM8475 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus) will be using TSMC’s 4nm process and is tentatively scheduled to be released in the middle or late this month, reported by ITHome. This makes sense as we are approaching the midway of 2022 and Qualcomm has the habit to launch “Plus” variants of its flagship SoCs during mid-year.

Also tipster @Yogesh Brar has already claimed that this upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus will give an overall performance increase by about 10%. Also the thermals are touted to be better than the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 while being more stable and could end up providing slight better battery life.

While the tipster mentioned of a commercial release of June, the fact that Digital Chat Station stresses for a May launch by Qualcomm makes sense.
