Netflix’s upcoming biographical drama Kennedy just got even more exciting — and more emotional. Hot on the heels of the first look at Michael Fassbender as Joe Kennedy Sr., we now have exclusive on-set images of two more pivotal characters, and their real-life story is one you won’t be able to shake easily.
What Is Netflix’s Kennedy Series?
Kennedy is an upcoming biographical drama produced by Chernow Entertainment — created by Sam Shaw of Manhattan — with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Fredrik Logevall serving as producer. The series begins in the 1930s, following Joe Kennedy Sr. and the lives, romances, careers, and tragedies of his children.
Think of it as the natural successor to The Crown — but American, grander, and arguably more tragic.

Who Are Kick Kennedy & Billy Cavendish?
Saura Lightfoot-Leon plays Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy — the fourth child of Joe Sr. and Rose Kennedy — while Louis Landau portrays William “Billy” Cavendish, the Marquess of Hartington and a member of the British aristocracy.
Their story is genuinely moving. While her father served as U.S. Ambassador to the UK, Kick made her London debut in 1938, chose to remain in England when war broke out, worked with the American Red Cross, and married Billy Cavendish in 1944.
Tragically, just four months after the wedding, Billy was killed by a German sniper while on active service in Belgium. Only four years later, Kick herself died in a plane crash at just 28 years old — and was buried at the same churchyard as her late husband in Edensor, Derbyshire.
