Netflix’s Emmy Scoreboard Just Got Very, Very Long

Award season doesn’t sneak up on Netflix anymore — it arrives with a full marching band.

The Television Academy has announced nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, and Netflix has landed nods across a massive 34 titles. After last year’s dominant 30-win haul led by “Adolescence,” “Arcane,” and “Bridgerton,” the streamer is once again a heavyweight contender heading into the September ceremony.

Netflix’s Shows Leading The Pack

Beef (Season 2) tops the list with 16 nominations, cementing its status as this year’s biggest contender. The dark comedy-drama’s second season brings Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, and Youn Yuh-jung into a fresh story, with creator Lee Sung Jin picking up directing and writing nods.

The Beast in Me follows with 9 nominations, including Lead Actress for Claire Danes and Lead Actor for Matthew Rhys, making it one of the season’s strongest limited-series contenders.

Three titles tie at 7 nominations each: Black Rabbit, a crime thriller starring Jason Bateman (who also directed); Monster: The Ed Gein Story, the latest true-crime anthology entry led by Charlie Hunnam; and fan-favorite Stranger Things, recognized for its technical craft, sound work, and stunts as it barrels toward its finale.

Political drama The Diplomat and gothic hit Wednesday each scored 6 nominations. “The Diplomat” earned Outstanding Drama Series honors alongside acting nods for Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell, while “Wednesday” picked up craft nominations spanning production design, costumes, hairstyling, and an Original Song nod for Lady Gaga’s “The Dead Dance.”

The Rest Of The Field

Period romance Bridgerton picked up 4 nominations, including a fun Character Voice-Over nod for Julie Andrews. Political drama Death by Lightning and heartwarming reality series Love on the Spectrum matched that count.

Rounding out the mid-tier, Marty, Life Is Short, Remarkably Bright Creatures, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, and Wanda Sykes: Legacy each earned 3 nominations, while shows like Nobody Wants This, Emily in Paris, and The Upshaws picked up 2 apiece. A long tail of single nominations — including nature documentary narration by David Attenborough and reality favorite Queer Eye — shows just how wide Netflix’s net has been cast this year.

Why It Matters

With 34 unique titles nominated across drama, comedy, limited series, and reality categories, Netflix’s 2026 slate proves its content strategy isn’t leaning on one genre — it’s spreading bets across prestige dramas, true crime, romance, and unscripted television all at once. Whether that translates into another 30-win night remains to be seen when the ceremony airs this September.
