Netflix rolls out feature to view partially downloaded titles on Android devices

This Monday, Netflix launched a new feature for its service on Android devices allowing its users to view partially downloaded titles. This feature makes it possible to watch the contents which have yet to be downloaded completed so that those in a rush to put their download on hold and make that 3-hour long flight a possibility without fussing over their downloaded content can now be distress-free.

According to sources, Android users on mobile and tablets (versions 7.64 and higher) will now stream Netflix shows and movies before their downloads are completed. This is an interesting feature and one which has been implemented in some of the download browsers.

“We always want to make it easier for members to access their favourite series or movies regardless of language, device, connectivity, or location. So, partial downloading is now available on Android phones and tablets, and we’ll begin testing on iOS in the coming months. So, that’s the download on Netflix’s latest improvement – for now.”

It was a headache to watch any content on Netflix, a title needed to be finished downloading to a device. And all this depended on our Wifi connection or data plan. And as we all know the internet service in the country of India is the fastest in the world, pun intended.

However, for now, the partial downloading will be limited to Android mobile and tablet devices, but Netflix announced that it “will be testing on iOS in the coming months”.

In February, Netflix also rolled out the Downloads for You feature, which auto-downloads recommended titles based on watch history for Android devices. That feature will also receive a rollout on iOS real soon.
