Netflix New Releases This Week (September 12, 2026): Full List, Top 10 Charts & What to Binge

Netflix just dropped 39 fresh titles — 21 movies and 18 series — and this week’s lineup is stacked with everything from an Oscar-winning animated sequel to a slow-burn political thriller starring Johnny Depp and Robert Pattinson. Whether your weekend calls for a gripping Dutch mystery or a nostalgic laugh-out-loud comedy, here’s your compact, no-scroll-fatigue guide to what landed and what’s actually trending.

The 3 Titles Worth Dropping Everything For

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022) finally struts onto Netflix US, and it’s every bit the visual knockout critics raved about. Antonio Banderas returns as the swashbuckling feline burning through his last life, teaming up with Kitty Softpaws and an unnervingly cheerful therapy dog to chase the mythical Wishing Star.

The Perfect Lie (Season 1) is this week’s sleeper hit — a Dutch thriller based on Saskia Noort’s bestselling novel. A woman moves into a wealthy village clique, only to watch its “perfect” friend group unravel after a fire kills one of its members. Early reviews call it one of the best international shows of the year.

Waiting for the Barbarians (2020) pairs Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, and Robert Pattinson in a haunting period drama adapted from J.M. Coetzee’s acclaimed novel, exploring imperialism and cruelty at the edge of an unnamed empire. If you’re already tracking Pattinson’s upcoming projects, this is essential pre-watching — we cover more casting and release buzz over at TechnoSports’ entertainment desk.

Top 10 Movies Subscribers Actually Watched

The dark original thriller The Whisper Man held onto #1 for a second straight week (73 points), while true-crime documentaries continue their chokehold on the charts with Turning Point: Generation 9/11 steady at #2. Angelina Jolie’s Those Who Wish Me Dead surged to #3, and Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? made a strong #6 debut. Don’t be surprised if Puss in Boots — currently a modest #13 — rockets up once families take over the remote this weekend.

Top 10 Series Everyone’s Streaming

Death of the Pastor’s Wife refuses to budge from #1 (79 points), proving true crime is this month’s obsession. Instadocs: The Decoy Plane jumped to #2, and Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen climbed to #4 as delayed binge-watchers catch up on season two. Fresh arrival Crew Girl cracked the top ten in its debut week — a strong sign for the new original drama.

Why This Week’s Lineup Matters?

Compared to the massive 109-title haul from the previous week, this “quieter” drop is deceptively strong — quality over quantity. Netflix is clearly leaning into international storytelling (Dutch, Thai, Hebrew, and Telugu titles all landed simultaneously) while still feeding the reality-TV and true-crime appetite that’s dominating engagement charts globally. For readers tracking streaming trends across platforms, this pattern mirrors what we’ve been seeing across OTT releases on TechnoSports — regional content and true crime are the two genres consistently punching above their weight in 2026.
