More than 30 mobile games are now available on Netflix’s platform. With a few games and VR experiences that have been launched over the years, gaming has already had a tiny role in Netflix’s history.
As it is, Netflix’s gaming model is similar to that of Apple Arcade, where a subscription price grants you unrestricted access to a selection of games (in this case, your Netflix membership). There are no ads or microtransactions in any of the games, and they are all completely free to play.
According to Apptopia, 8.1 million people had downloaded mobile games from Netflix as of January 2022 on both Android and iOS. According to updated statistics from August 2022, there have been 23.3 million downloads, or little under 1% of all Netflix users who have tried out the campaign.
Upcoming Netflix Games are:
- Untitled Assassin’s Creed Game
- Cats & Soup
- Compass Point West
- Country Friends
- Flutter Butterflies
- Hello Kitty Happiness Parade
- IMMORTALITY
- Kentucky Route Zero
- La Casa De Papel: The Game
- Mighty Quest
- Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited
- Raji: An Ancient Epic
- Reigns: Three Kingdom
- Shadow And Bone: Destinies
- Skies of Chaos
- Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales
- Terra Nil
- The Queen’s Gambit: Chess
- Valiant Hearts Sequel
- Too Hot To Handle
In other news, the video-streaming giant Netflix announced in a blog post on Monday that it had purchased Spry Fox, a Seattle-based indie gaming studio that specialised in intimate games. The deal’s financial details weren’t made public. Spry Fox is currently the sixth in-house game studio for Netflix. According to the blog post by Amir Rahimi, vice president of gaming studios at Netflix, the acquisition will speed up Netflix’s creative growth in yet another well-liked category.
