Nepal have qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating the UAE by 8 wickets at Mulpani Maidan in Kathmandu. They will be returning to the tournament after 10 years, having last played at the 2014 edition in Bangladesh. The edition next year will be played in the USA and West Indies in June.
Ashif Shaikh scored 63 runs as they chased down the target of 135 set by the UAE. Shaikh was assisted by Gulshan Jha who scored 22 runs while Kushal Bhurtel scored 11.

After making it to the Asian Cup earlier this year, Nepal have now made further history by qualifying for an ICC tournament yet again.
Kushal Malla played an important role in their win over the UAE, registering figures of 3/11 in 3 overs, restricting them to a relatively low total in the first innings.
West Indies, United States of America, Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, Canada, Nepal and Oman have confirmed their participation in the T20 World Cup next year.
Oman and Nepal had to achieve their qualification through the 2024 Qualifiers, and will face each other in the final game of the Asian Qualifiers for the title.
