To measure the sea levels at different points, the satellite will release an electronic signal beam down to the oceans and will note the time span the beam returns to it. By comparing consecutive readings, the sea level changes easily can be detected.

Along with detecting sea-level changes, the satellite also can weather forecast. Before any storm, a massive change in the sea level is observed every time. The satellite actually detects that to predict.

Currently, monitoring the changes in climate due to our activities is most important. With the help of the new satellite, needless to say, NASA will get more accurate and high definition reports that can be used to manage or control our habits to save our mother nature.
