Mumbai City FC played out another draw with NorthEast United in the ISL, with the scoreline tied at 1-1 this time. Here are the three talking points from the game.

Mohammed Irshad Becomes Supersub

It only took six minutes for Mohammed Irshad to get on the scoresheet after coming off the bench in the 73rd minute. The player received the ball at the edge of the box and slotted it into the bottom corner to equalise for the Highlanders with a little over ten minutes remaining on the clock.

NorthEast United unlucky to score only once

In a game that was full of end-to-end action from start to finish, NorthEast United were very unlucky to not have scored more than once. This has been a constant issue for Khalid Jamil’s team. They can create a number of chances, but lack the final finish.

Deshorn Brown, the man who scored a hat-trick against Mumbai City FC in their previous meeting, was dearly missed today with so many great opportunities presenting themselves in the game.

Mumbai City FC’s title ambitions slowed down

With Igor Angulo unable to make the matchday squad, Mumbai City lacked the presence of a recognised goalscorer up front. The only goal they scored was courtesy of a penalty converted by Ahmed Jahouh, marking his return to the starting line-up with a successful spot kick.

But earning a point against NorthEast for the second time, Mumbai City are now two points behind league leaders Hyderabad FC.
