MTV Hustle
MTV India and music company T-Series have recently formed a global partnership for the reality TV show MTV Hustle. As part of this agreement, all the original music created during the first three seasons will be distributed worldwide by T-Series.
MTV Hustle 2.0 has played a pivotal role in spearheading the hip-hop movement in India, leaving an indelible mark on subcontinental culture and making rap the preferred form of expression among today’s youth. T-series, a highly respected player in the Indian music industry, is a natural partner for this collaboration, which promises to catapult South Asian hip-hop onto the global stage. Anshul Ailawadi, Business Head for Youth, Music, and English Entertainment at Viacom18, affirms this exciting development.
Bhushan Kumar, the managing director and chairman of T-Series, expressed his satisfaction with the music produced on MTV Hustle, stating that it has strongly connected with audiences. This collaboration aligns with T-Series’ goal to expand the Indian music market and make it accessible to a global audience. Kumar expressed excitement about this unique partnership and emphasized their commitment to providing a platform for both established and emerging talent in their musical endeavors.
MTV Hustle has introduced renowned artists such as King, EPR, MC Square, Srushti Tawde, and Paradox. Additionally, they have created more than 100 unique musical compositions in various genres like Bollywood, Sufi, Folk, and Regional rap.
MTV India, a division of Viacom18 focusing on youth, music, and English entertainment, is looking to expand its offerings by creating regional language versions of its popular shows. This initiative aims to reach out to the youth beyond the Hindi-speaking market, specifically targeting regions like Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The company recognizes the value of its content and music properties, which generate significant engagement across various platforms including linear television, social media, and JioCinema, their video streaming platform. While the network is well-known for reality shows like Roadies, Splitsvilla, and Hustle, it intends to broaden its appeal through regional adaptations. The show is scheduled to stream on JioCinema.
