The global chip shortage is nothing new, and while all companies are trying to provide the latest GPUs to gamers, MSI has taken this opportunity to bring a quite old Kepler GPU. So, recently, MSI has resurrected the GeForce GT 730, which was launched back in 2014, and could be a substitute for gamers who are out of GPU.

It is still a popular GPU for those who need a GPU for display and basic entry-level gaming, it features just 384 CUDA cores and shows how old the GPU is. The GT 730 comes with 902 MHz boost clock and just 2GB of DDR3 memory operating at 1,600 MHz across a 64-bit memory interface.

MSI re-releases the old GeForce GT 730 to tackle GPU shortage

This old GPU is a low-profile, fanless one that is just 146mm long, having an old PCIe gen 2.0 connection. However, this Kepler graphics card does support up to three displays simultaneously with ports: one dual-link DVI-D port, one HDMI 1.4 port and one D-sub port.

It does however support 4K resolution at 4096 x 2160, but limited to a 30Hz refresh rate. It draws only 23W of power, though NVIDIA is officially dropping support for drivers for the age-old architecture but considering how outrageuous GPU prices are, a hungry gamer can grab anything now.

So, the MSI GeForce GT 730 is being sold for 4,565 yen (~$41.64) in Japan with taxes and is quite cheap when compared to prices in the US or even in India.
