MS Dhoni all set to become the first player to earn Rs 150 crores from the IPL

MS Dhoni is all set to become the first player in the Indian Premier League to rake in more than Rs 150 crore as salary as it is confirmed that Dhoni is going to play for, and also lead the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2021 season.

Dhoni himself announced this decision of continuing to play in the IPL after he took retirement from the blue jersey in August during the toss prior to CSK’s final league game against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020 by quoting ‘Definitely Not’ when the TV representative asked him if he is going to retire from IPL after this game.

Moreover, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan earlier confirmed that Dhoni will lead the team in IPL 2021 by quoting in an interview with the TOI, “Yes, definitely. I am very confident that Dhoni will lead CSK in 2021. He has won three titles for us in the IPL. This is the first year we have not qualified for the playoffs. No other team has done that. One bad year does not mean we will have to change everything.”

At present Dhoni’s contract with Chennai Super Kings is worth a huge amount Rs 15 crores and, till date, his earnings are Rs 137.8 crores. CSK is all set to retain him in the IPL 2021 for Rs 15 crores. So Dhoni will cross the Rs 150-crore salary milestone in IPL to become the first player with the highest earnings.

Not only his earnings but his achievements are also worth remembering, as he is referred to as ‘THALA’, meaning the boss, this name completely justifies why he is called so.

Dhoni has played 9 out of the 13 IPL finals till now and has also bagged the IPL title thrice as the captain of CSK. He has played 8 finals for CSK and has played one final with the Rising Pune Supergiants. Also, he is the only captain to win the IPL trophy at their home ground. As a captain for CSK, Dhoni has won most of the matches in the IPL history as he has clinched a total of 104 matches in the IPL.

Adding to his huge lists of records, Dhoni is the only wicketkeeper with the most dismissals in IPL history with a total of 132 dismissals. Also, he has reached the milestone of being the only captain to win 100 IPL games. Dhoni has the highest average among Indian batsmen with 42.20 in the IPL.

Not only this but also he is considered as one of the greatest finishers ever as he is the only player to have scored 564+ runs in the 20th over. Moreover, Dhoni as a Captain has the astounding power of scouting the perfect youngsters and even youngsters, whenever get a chance to share the dressing room with Dhoni, they see him as a bonanza and never miss a chance to learn from him.
