Mouni Roy Speaks Up — Brahmastra Actress Shuts Down Divorce Rumors with Suraj Nambiar and Asks for Privacy

The rumour mill had been working overtime, but Mouni Roy has had enough. The Brahmastra actress has stepped forward to directly address the swirling speculation about the state of her marriage — and her message is clear and dignified.

Mouni Roy & Suraj Nambiar — Overview

What Started the Divorce Rumours?

Speculation about trouble in Mouni Roy’s marriage began circulating this week when eagle-eyed fans noticed that the couple had reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram. The situation escalated when Suraj temporarily deactivated his account, leading to widespread reports claiming a formal separation was underway.

In today’s social media-driven world, an unfollow is treated as breaking news — and for a couple as closely watched as Mouni and Suraj, it was enough to set the internet ablaze.

Mouni Roy’s Official Response

Rather than staying silent and letting rumours grow bigger, Mouni chose to speak directly. After watching her personal life become a spectacle for public consumption, the actress took to her Instagram Stories to address what she called “false narratives.” Her message was brief but firm: “Humbly requesting all the media houses to not publish false narratives and give us space and privacy. Please.”

It’s a composed, graceful response from someone who has clearly had enough of seeing her private life dissected in real time. No dramatic revelations, no lengthy explanations — just a quiet, firm request for basic human decency.

A Love Story Worth Protecting

Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar have been one of Bollywood’s more low-key couples since their wedding in early 2022. Mouni Roy is a popular TV and film actress known for her work in Brahmastra, while Suraj is a Dubai-based businessman — a couple straddling two very different worlds.

Their relationship has largely stayed out of the tabloid spotlight, which makes the sudden wave of divorce speculation even more jarring. It’s a reminder of how quickly celebrity privacy can be eroded by social media speculation built on something as trivial as an unfollow.

Mouni’s willingness to address it directly — even just to ask for space — reflects a maturity about navigating fame that many in the industry could learn from. Whatever is or isn’t happening privately, the couple deserves the space to handle it on their own terms.
