Motorola’s next flagship with Snapdragon 8 gen 1+ is expected to launch on May 10

Lenovo’s General Manager for the Mobile Phone Business, Chen Jin, has been badgering the launch of a new Motorola flagship smartphone for quite some time.
The recent teaser on Weibo advised that Frontier could come very soon.

Motorola is apparently working on a new ultra-premium flagship smartphone. Codenamed Frontier, the phone is anticipated to launch in June or July this year. The USP of the flagship Android smartphone from Motorola will be its processor and camera hardware.

The recent trailer on Weibo suggests that Frontier could release soon. Jin put up a post on Weibo asking users which upcoming Motorola smartphone they are looking forward to.

The post was uploaded using an unknown Motorola device. The gossip mill suggests that Jin could be giving clues at the launch of the Frontier.

Motorola’s next launch: Specifications

Apart from the most significant chipset from Qualcomm yet and the 200MP camera, the device may also come with a 125W charging technology. The managing director had shared trailer images for a 125W charger in March giving us a clue at the advent of the new smartphone.

It is most likely that the smartphone maker will introduce its next flagship smartphone once the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset is announced. The chipset is anticipated to be announced this month.

As far as the specifications for the Motorola Frontier are contemplated. It is anticipated that the device will come with a display featuring a 6.67-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate along with HDR10 support.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus chipset is anticipated to feature Cortex-X2 core, Cortex-A710, and Cortex-A510 cores along with the Adreno 730 GPU. The processor on the device could be dichotomized with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

On the camera front, Motorola Frontier is anticipated to have a triple rear camera setup which displays suggest will be captioned by a 200MP primary lens. The other cameras will include a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto shooter.
