Motorola has officially announced the soon-to-be-launched Motorola Edge 50 Ultra in India. This will be the flagship in the series followed by the Edge 50 Pro and recently launched Edge 50 Fusion. The phone’s AI capabilities were teased on a Flipkart microsite earlier, where several key specifications were revealed ahead of the official launch.
The Upcoming Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
Motorola posted on X (Twitter) about the new smartphone launching on June 18. The Flipkart listing also contains a dedicated microsite for Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. As per the microsite, the phone will be offering features like a 6.7-inch pOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display maxes out at a peak brightness of 2500 nits and covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
Motorola recently confirmed that the Edge 50 Ultra will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The device is also expected to feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. And it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, and will also feature Moto AI which is Motorola’s AI functions suite, including Magic Canvas capable of creating AI images using textual commands.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will be launched in India with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage instead of 16GB RAM in the global variant. Motorola offers three years of guaranteed OS updates and four years of security patches.
The phone will support 125W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Additionally, it will offer 10W wireless power sharing for charging other devices like smartwatches and TWS earbuds. The Edge 50 Ultra will also include the Smart Connect feature, allowing users to stream apps to their PCs, copy and paste text and images, share data between devices, and use the phone as a webcam.
The phone will feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The front camera will be a 50-megapixel selfie shooter. The camera system will include AI features like AI adaptive stabilization and 100x AI super zoom.
Motorola has not yet disclosed the price of the Edge 50 Ultra in India. The global version is priced at EUR 999 (approximately ₹89,000). The phone will be available in three colors: Pantone-validated Peach Fuzz, Forest Grey (with a silicone vegan leather back panel), and a wood finish.
