Motorola has recently introduced the Moto G84 5G as an update to its budget-friendly Moto G-series. Priced at under ₹20,000, this smartphone is primarily aimed at the younger demographic, especially college students, who value features like a capable camera system, fast charging, and a stylish design. Notably, the Moto G84 marks the first instance in the company’s G-series lineup to offer a Pantone color edition, known for its expertise in color matching and standardization.
Moto G84 5G Pricing and Specifications
The Moto G84 5G is available in a single storage variant, offering 256GB of storage paired with 12GB of RAM, all for ₹19,999. Customers can further reduce the price to ₹18,999 through bank or exchange offers. Additionally, Motorola has teamed up with Jio to provide benefits worth up to ₹5,000, applicable to the ₹399 prepaid plan. The phone is offered in Viva Magenta and Marshmallow Blue variants, both featuring a leather finish, while the Midnight Blue option sports a glass-like PMMA material.
The Moto G84 boasts a 10-bit 6.5-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1300 nits. This display supports DCI-P3 100 percent colors, similar to the AMOLED panels found in other smartphones in this price range and the sub-30K INR segment. While the pOLED panel has a slight compositional difference, it’s challenging for most users to discern with the naked eye.
Moto G84 is driven by a Snapdragon 695 System-on-Chip (SoC) and houses a robust 5,000mAh battery. On the rear, you’ll find two cameras: a 50-megapixel OIS camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Notably, there are no additional macro or depth cameras, as seen in many other phones in this category. Instead, the secondary camera can handle macro photography. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel camera.
In terms of software, Motorola emphasizes the user experience. The Moto G84 ships with Android 13, with an upgrade to Android 14 planned. However, it’s worth noting that Motorola has been relatively slower compared to its competitors in rolling out regular software updates. The device also comes preloaded with proprietary apps and features, including Moto Connect. It includes Dolby Atmos speakers with support for Moto Spatial audio, promising a 3D sound effect.
