If we look at 2023 as a great year for smartphones, there have been some really good phones and some not-so-good ones, but there are some smartphones that I feel are the most underrated smartphones of 2023.
A lot of the best-performing smartphones were launched in 2023, but there are some of the smartphones that were not highlighted during the period and hype. So, in this article, we are going to cover the most underrated smartphones of 2023 that you can opt for in the coming sale. Let’s get into this article with more details.
Most Underrated Smartphones of 2023: A complete list
POCO F5
This POCO F5 was released in May 2023 and retailed for less than 30,000 rupees in India. However, if you check at the graph, it has since gone for 22–23k, which is an absurd amount for this phone. I say so because, despite the fact that this phone has been out for exactly seven months, no phone under 30,000 rupees has been able to equal its performance.

Motorola Edge 40
Due in large part to the pixel phone’s simultaneous debut, the Motorola Edge 40 has remained relatively unknown since its release a few months ago. It didn’t help that the new Edge phones were priced similarly; instead, buyers and critics alike gave all of their attention to the phone that bends in half.

Sony Xperia 1 V
Sony’s smartphones have been largely unnoticed for many years. It’s unfortunate that the Xperia 1 V followed this pattern considering what is available here.
A 3.5mm connector, microSD expansion, and a 4K screen are just a few of the features that Sony included that will appeal to enthusiasts. Sony is still the only business selling a variable telephoto camera today, and the Xperia 1 V offers an amazing photographic experience as well.
The Sony Xperia 1 V is equipped with a 6.5-inch OLED display that has 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 21:9 CinemaWide 4K HDR compatibility. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in the smartphone offers 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. Along with the Xperia 1 V comes a brand-new Exmor T picture sensor. Three cameras make up the rear of the Sony Xperia 1 V. The primary camera is a 52-megapixel unit with a 1/1.3.5′′ sensor, an f/1.9 aperture, and hybrid OIS/EIS functionality.
HONOR Magic 5 Pro
The Magic 5 Pro fulfilled all of the requirements for a high-end phone: it had an elegant design, an IP68 rating, the newest flagship Snapdragon chip, quick wired and wireless charging, and cameras that could compete with the best in the business.
Even so, there were still a few shortcomings with HONOR’s flagship device, namely the mediocre software and absence of Gorilla Glass protection. The Magic Vs, the company’s first foldable released globally, was undoubtedly not helping matters either. But the Magic 5 Pro unequivocally shows that HONOR is capable of taking on the big boys.
ASUS Zenfone 10
Once again, the Zenfone 10 was one of the few small flagship phones of the year and offered a true luxury experience in many aspects. Snapdragon 8 Generation 2? Indeed. What is wireless charging? Indeed. IP68 grade? Obviously. It even presented the user with a 3.5mm port.
Compared to larger competitors, ASUS has a smaller geographic reach and a smaller marketing budget. Is it therefore surprising that the Zenfone 10 is on this list as it was not even launched in India?
The Zenfone 10’s exceptional camera system and a few unique features set it apart from other smartphones.
On the front of the device, there is a left-aligned display cutout that conceals a 32MP selfie camera. This sensor is a touch out of the ordinary because it is an RGBW sensor, which ASUS claims can handle up to 67% more light intake and up to 50% less visual noise.
