A recent promotional video was launched on the social media handles of the Indian Super League (ISL) and broadcasted on Star Networks. The content of the video did not go down well with the Mohun Bagan fans who were furious with the video.
The video showed the kits of ATK and Mohun Bagan being washed together to form the new colours of ATK Mohun Bagan. This has hurt the sentiments and legacy of the Mariners.
Mohun Bagan general secretary Srinjoy Bose addressed to the fans and have promised them some points to retain the legacy of the Green and Maroon brigade.
Srinjoy Bose said in his official letter: “Dear Mariners, In view of certain recent developments, I take this opportunity to bring forward certain points for all of you to be aware of. In light of recent events we have aproached Mr. Sanjiv Goenka, who took active interest and proactive steps to address the concerns of the Mariners and spoke to different stakeholders to address the issues on an urgent basis.”

- We were not privy to the details of the recent promotional video launched in different social media handles of ISL and broadcasted in Star network. As soon as we noticed the commercial we get in touch with top management of ATK Mohun Bagan who took up the matter very seriously with FSDL and Star network. We have been assured that the promo which hurt the emotions of Mohun Bagan fans, will be modified. The changed version will be used in all social media handles and brodcasting channels very soon after the necessary edits.
- As discussed with FSDL the issue of 3 stars on the sleeve with the ISL logo has been discussed and has been done away with.
- As discussed earlier, FSDL has started modifying the statistics section in ISL official website to reflect statistics before 2020-21 to be attributed to ATKFC. ATK Mohun Bagan stats will be accumulated from season 2020-21 onwards

Inspite of multiple restrictions in UK, Europe and Australia due to the pandemic situation, all necessary steps were taken to ensure the arrival of our foreign coaching staff and players at the right time at Goa. But, some fans are still not happy with the merger and have been calling out to remove ATK. They also started a trend on Twitter #RemoveATK.
It is a big problem for both ATK and Mohun Bagan that fans have not taken the merger in a good way. There’s a rift between the fans and they are calling for a change in the name so that the legacy of Mohun Bagan lives on.
