The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the ICC ODI team of the year. It may be shocking to the fans that the top players of the world like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma haven’t been named in the team. Only two Indians, Mohammad Siraj, and Shreyas Iyer have made it to the list.

Iyer has been one of the most consistent performers of the ODI. He also mustered the highest runs in 2022. He generally bats at No.4 and he played a total of 17 games last year. On the other hand, India has seen a lot of players getting injured in 2022. Senior players like Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja got ruled out and Siraj stepped in to fill the void. In the last year, he played 15 matches and scalped 24 wickets at an average of 23.50 with a figure of 3/29.
