Mob Psycho 100: Everything We Need to Know About the Anime

Mob Psycho 100

The fourth season of Mob Psycho 100 has become a popular topic of discussion among fans who exclusively watch the anime. The source material for this series is a webcomic/web manga created by ONE, who is also known for writing the One Punch Man series. Similar to One Punch Man, One Punch Man has also been adapted from a webcomic into a manga.

The third season of Mob Psycho 100 was truly amazing, and the finale took us on a thrilling emotional journey. We witnessed tremendous character growth in Shigeo over the six years since the anime adaptation first premiered. Naturally, fans have been eagerly anticipating a fourth season of Mob Psycho 100, but unfortunately, the chances of that happening are extremely slim.

Mob Psycho 100: All Details

It is highly unlikely that a fourth season of Mob Psycho 100 will be created primarily because there is no more original source material to adapt. The third season has already concluded the storyline envisioned by the author, ONE.

While there is a possibility that Studio Bones may continue the series with new content to keep the franchise alive, it is unlikely that ONE will continue creating chapters beyond where season 3 concluded. The conclusion presented in season 3 was skillfully crafted and left viewers satisfied.

Although the possibility of Mob Psycho 100 season 4 being approved is uncertain, there is a one-shot called “Reigen” that might be adapted into an anime. However, it should be noted that this adaptation might not be considered part of the official storyline and could potentially serve as a filler series. Considering the profitability of the series, Studio Bones’ efforts to sustain the franchise may result in the anime adaptation of the “Reigen” one-shot.

The ending of Mob Psycho 100 is characterized by the importance of honesty and acceptance, which aligns perfectly with the core values of the story. This theme has been explored for various characters throughout the series, but the protagonist, Mob, had not fully embraced it until now.

The appeal of this series lies in its ability to potentially mislead the well-informed audience regarding the protagonist’s objectives and the themes explored throughout. Although characters like Shigeo possess immense power, the core of the story revolves around his desire for a simplistic life. The series concludes with Mob losing control, accompanied by an internal monologue, focusing on Mob and his alter ego “???%”, as the latter attempts to take charge. Towards the finale, Mob, who expected to be deserted in this predicament, finds solace in a loyal group of friends who refuse to abandon him.

Reigen openly confessed to utilizing Mob’s psychic powers for financial gain. However, he reassured Mob that he fully embraces him, including both his positive and negative traits. Encouragingly, Reigen advised Mob to embrace all aspects of his own identity. Eventually, Shigeo developed self-acceptance and courageously revealed his romantic feelings to Tsubomi, the person he had a crush on.

Despite Tsubomi’s refusal, Mob proceeded to lead a satisfying ordinary existence as the Vice President of the Body Improvement Club. The narrative concluded with the entire cast pleasantly surprising Reigen Arataka with a birthday celebration. And, above all else, Shigeo Mob unleashed the most authentic smile that could illuminate the entire world.
