Mirzapur The Movie Arrives on the Big Screen on September 4, 2026

The throne of Purvanchal is about to be reclaimed — and this time on the biggest screen possible. The runaway success of the Mirzapur franchise is gearing up for its biggest transition yet, from OTT to the silver screen, with Mirzapur: The Movie officially set to hit cinemas on September 4, 2026. The film marks the first theatrical release for the Mirzapur franchise, which began as a streaming series and went on to become one of India’s most popular and widely discussed OTT properties.

From OTT to the Big Screen

Mirzapur premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2018 and is set in the lawless town of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. The series follows the power struggles, crime networks, and political control surrounding the region’s illegal arms and carpet trade. Across its seasons, the show built a strong following for its violence-driven narrative, ensemble cast, and characters that became widely referenced in popular culture.

Now, for the first time ever, the cult saga of Mirzapur steps into cinemas, transforming its beloved world into an epic big-screen experience.
