Minisforum the custom PC manufacturer has introduced a new AMD-based mini PC model. Surely, there are many AMD-based mini-PC models introduced in the market however, this newly launched mini-PC is somewhat different from the rest.
The new all-AMD system is aimed at gamers and is Minisforum’s first true gaming mini PC model that also features an open case design.
The new AMD-based GameMini system is quite a bit longer than any previous Minisforum square-shaped model. The reason for this being that the open-air case is fitted with desktop-grade components rather than ULV components.
The GameMini includes a Gigabyte Aorus B550I Pro AX mini-ITX motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Hexa-core CPU which can boost to 4.6 GHz (with a non-stock cooler) also a newly released AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT riser-mounted on the opposite side of the motherboard.
The gaming mini-PC also features 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM from HyperX, 1 TB Kingston KC2500 M.2 SSD storage, and a SilverStone SX650-G PSU that supports a more powerful CPU and GPU upgrades.
Other specifications of the Aorus motherboard include:
- PCIe 4.0 support
- Wi-Fi 6.0
- BT 5.0
- 2.5 GbE NIC
Ports include:
- 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
- 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2
- 2x USB 2.0
- 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2
- dual HDMI 2.1 + 1x DP 1.4 video outputs
- 3x audio jacks connected to the Realtek ALC1220-VB audio codec
For now, Minisforum has not launched any pricing or availability details of the device. However, the OEM is expected to start a crowdfunding campaign for this model very soon. As what performance numbers the company’s first gaming mini-PC will bring to the market remains to be seen.
