Former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson could step into the ring with YouTube star Jake Paul for a fight in Las Vegas, according to reports. The exhibition fight is expected to be worth £36 million to be held later this year.
The pair have reached a verbal agreement to face off against each other, with the details yet to be sorted out.
Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul on the cards?
According to a source of the Daily Mail, the fight is set to go through if all things go according to plan:
‘Mike and Jake are on board for an exhibition bout in Las Vegas.
‘A verbal deal has been struck to get it on, but like all forms of sports business, now it’s all about the contracts and money split.
‘Mike is looking for a certain figure to get into the ring with a profit share guarantee.
‘Jake obviously has that on his mind but is keen to show the world that stepping into the ring with a man once called the baddest man on the planet, takes his boxing career to the next level.
‘This fight bridges the gap between old school boxing fans and the new generation of followers.’
While there were rumours of Mike Tyson originally taking on Logan Paul, it seems like his sibling will be the one to step up against the iconic boxer. Paul has a boxing record of 5-0, and is more than 30 years younger than Mike Tyson.
The 55-year-old returned to the ring for an exhibition fight in 2020, and could now feature in yet another exhibition fight after two years.
