Once completed, this will be Microsoft’s largest R&D facility outside of the Redmond Headquarters, leading to a boosted employment opportunity and tens of thousands of patents and innovations for the surrounding region.

Noida Authority worked closely with Uttar Pradesh Government to help facilitate the project, further ensuring Noida’s place as a new investment hot spot for technology companies across the globe.
While addressing the attendees of the event, CM Yogi Adityanath mentioned Microsoft’s decision to build the largest Research & Development centre of the company at Noida reflects the fast growing stature of the place in the world of tech. “After Hyderabad, now Uttar Pradesh is going to be the home of Microsoft in the form of a new campus,” he remarked.
The new facility in Noida will be over 15 acres with a built-up area of 1.1 million square feet. It is aimed at accelerating the pace of innovation enabled by artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and skilling. It will also help bolster India’s AI capabilities and foster engineering talent.
Rajiv Kumar, Manging Director, Microsoft IDC said the organisation is sensitive towards responsible AI and aims to empower businesses, communities, and people. The facility is expected to attract top talent from across India and the world, fostering advancements in AI, cloud computing, and security.
Apart from Noida, Microsoft has strong development centers in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. This expansion aligns with India’s vision of becoming an AI-first nation, further advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital transformation initiatives. Additionally, CM Yogi also inaugurated the AI Engineering Center of MAQ Software and the Sify Data Center in Noida, marking another step toward making Uttar Pradesh a leading tech and innovation hub.
