To import all the features of RDNA 2, Microsoft started the manufacturing of Xbox Series X and S consoles with a bit of delay. Phil Spencer revealed that information in an interview with The Verge.

Microsoft started the manufacturing of its new console in the late summer, whereas Sony started earlier, without waiting for AMD’s final design of its new GPU architecture. The company said that “Xbox Series X|S are the only next-generation consoles with full hardware support for all the RDNA 2 capabilities”. This features Mesh Shaders, Variable Rate Shading, hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing, and Sample Feedback Streaming. AMD stated that both the PS5 and Xbox are based on RDNA 2 architecture.

Having Variable Rate Shading, the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S is offering a powerful gaming performance and the console is able to render different parts of the game differently. Xbox Series X|S has a slower SSD compared to the PS5, even though the Xbox console loads the game faster than the PS5 with the help of Sampler Feedback Streaming.

Phil also said that Microsoft is going to manufacture a large amount of Xbox Series X compared to the Xbox Series S. On the launch day, Xbox had a record sale and the company is going to restock the console again in the coming weeks.

In, coming Spring, we could see a huge stock availability for Xbox Series S. Spencer says, “Over the long run, in most cases, price wins out,”. Microsoft Xbox Series X and S both are available in India, whereas the PS5 still hasn’t launched in India.
