Following Google’s recent developer conference, which heavily emphasized AI-powered features, Microsoft is expected to run its own event tomorrow. The conference, set for May 21 and May 23, is named Microsoft Build 2024. The conference will be held in Seattle, as well as held virtually.
Considering the current trend in the tech community of AI, the conference is likely to focus on the AI developments by Microsoft; in addition, expected updates on Windows 11 and new Surface hardware will be provided.
It will cost USD 2,125 to attend in person in Seattle, and the virtual conference is free. Starting from 9 pm, May 21, the conference will go live on the Microsoft Developer YouTube channel. The opening keynote will be presented by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Rajesh Jha, Mustafa Suleyman, and Kevin Scott. It is anticipated that they will announce new developer tools in the market and the upcoming hardware.
More About Microsoft Build 2024
The official Microsoft announcement for the event date reads, “Build is coming up soon – it takes place from May 21-23, 2024. Whether you’ll be attending in person in Seattle or joining us online – for free – you’ll be living and breathing the cutting-edge creations of our developer tools and technologies that Microsoft is continually introducing to the world.”
Furthermore, one might say that the Microsoft Build 2024 conference’s theme: “How will AI shape your future?” alludes to the tremendous importance of Microsoft’s strategy to fuse AI across all of its products. The most significant announcements on the theme will be new AI capabilities of Windows and Office, possibly such as the new version of Copilot with Windows 11 and an “AI Explorer” that will be able to integrate and interact with one’s digital environments in unprecedented ways.
Microsoft will also announce new Azure cloud platform products and solutions at Build 2024 for developers but include improved low-code and no-code capabilities; these tools will allow developers to create with AI in new ways, continuing to grow Microsoft’s AI ecosystem.
In addition, Microsoft will also decimate some new hardware at Build 2024, including Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, both available in x86-based and ARM-based models, expanding its ARM-powered PC lineup further. Build 2024 will also feature new ARM-based Windows PCs from OEMs such as Dell, Samsung, and Lenovo, powered by new Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors.
