Michael Schumacher’s brother Ralf has opened up about his brother’s skiing accident 10 years after it happened on 29 December 2013. Since then, the legendary F1 driver has not been seen out in public, but he remains cared for by his family and loved ones in his home.
The family never put out a final medical report regarding the iconic driver to avoid any subsequent updates on his health. There has only been speculation about what could have happened to Michael Schumacher, with no final confirmation.
Michael Schumacher’s brother Ralf opens up on the struggles of the past decade
“I miss the Michael of the old days. Life is unfair from time to time,” Ralf said. “Michael was very lucky throughout his life. But then there was this tragic accident.
“Fortunately, advanced medical science provides many opportunities. However, nothing is like it used to be.”
“It has been a significant experience for me but, of course, even more so for his children,” Ralf said. “Life is unfair at times. That day held a lot of bad luck. This fate has changed our family.”
In spite of the seven-year age difference between him and his brother, Ralf revealed that he was mentored by Michael. And after the incident, the immediate family has suffered tremendously. But it seems unlikely that we will ever see the former Ferrari driver in public again.
